The Capestang region in particular

The Biterrois is a natural region located in the west of the Hérault district, around the city of Béziers. It is made up of a large coastal plain and a landscape of hills and foothills, at the southern end of the Massif Central. A wine-growing and garrigue territory, it is bordered mainly by the Caroux-Espinouse massif, the Hérault valley, the Mediterranean Sea and the Minervois. It also communicates with the Montagne Noire and the Narbonne region also called the Narbonnais.

The Montagne Noire is a mountain range located at the southern end of the Massif Central. It separates the districts of Tarn, Hérault, Aude and Haute-Garonne. At its foot is the town of Mazamet in the Tarn. Partly included in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park, it is an area conducive to relaxation, heritage discovery and outdoor cultural and sporting activities. It is particularly attractive for its past steeped in the history of Catharism.

The Narbonnais stretches along the Mediterranean coast from the Aude and the edge of the Corbières in the north to the Leucate lagoon in the south, and of course includes the beautiful city of Narbonne. Its superb coastline is dotted with fish ponds set in a wild lagoon landscape that is almost fantastic when you see it in the early morning. Seaside resorts that have retained their authenticity enliven the coast. Many sailing sports are practiced there. In the Narbonne hinterland, the majestic Massif de la Clape rises, carpeted with vineyards that produce round and powerful wines... Its fragrant scrubland is home to an incredibly rich fauna offering beautiful walks in perspective.
